Hey team! You may or may not have noticed the spankin' new sections linked above in the nav bar, but cantocomics.com now features a performance page (with brief descriptions of three of my performance comics pieces) and a link to my soundcloud page, wherein I have been periodically posting the weird sound stuff I've been working on.

Both the performance and the sonics scratch itches that comicking does not. I did oodles of performing in high school and college, and did some real deep dives into CoolEdit 2.0 back when visual waveform editing was still in its infancy. It's only been since maybe 2017 that I started performing again, and since January of 2019 that I started musicking (maybe). The latter of these two has been made possible by my wife's receipt of the Tulsa Artist Fellowship and the comparative economic freedom that entails. Anyway, have a look and a listen! Maybe you'll like what you find.

Hey all,

I'm very pleased to announce THE FUTURE WITHOUT YOU, a stage adaptation of Sophie Goldstein's science-fiction comics.

This production will star Javier Sagel, Kara Bellavia, and Tizzi. I'll be on direction, sound design, production, and cue duties, which is going to be a real hoot!

The show will debut at STAPLE! in Austin, TX, on 12 October 2019, and will make its Tulsa debut on 24 October at the Tulsa City-County Library's Central Branch.

This show will be the second full-scale live comics performance I'll have helmed. I'm excited to start rehearsals--and to start building Foley props!

I'll be blogging about this on my Patreon for the higher-level subscribers. If you're interested in seeing how this stuff gets laced together, hie thee to yonder website and pledge your support!

Thank you, as always, for your interest and support.

It might seem strange to use the first blog post on this platform to announce my presence on a different one, but traditions be damned!

Dear reader, if you follow me on any other platform--and surely, you must, for how else would you have arrived at this unlighted corner of the vast netsphere?--you've doubtless seen my many posts promoting my new Patreon page.

Patreon, in case you didn't know, is a way to basically subscribe to an artist by tossing them a couple bucks every month for access to exclusive or temporarily exclusive content. Since I decided a few months ago that I wasn't going to release the rest of TURMRING as individual issues, opting instead for the more prestigious collected edition, I made the call to serialize the rest of that book here in cyberspace.

Comics, as you are no doubt aware, are a time-consuming process that has broken the hearts and bank accounts of better men than I. Patreon is a way for you, the reader, to make a more personal connection with artists, a place for artists to showcase work in progress, and a way to ensure that artists are able to make ends meet while bashing their heads against the Work.

If you like what you see on this website, and want to help me make more of it, please consider supporting me! It would mean the world, and I will do my damnedest to ensure that it's worth your while, by posting comics, drawings, soundscapes, and other projects as they get to sharable states.

Thanks again, dear reader. See you soon.
